These places have great religious significance for Hindus and attract thousands of devotees every year. Here's a brief overview of each of the Char Dham destinations:

1. Yamunotri:
Located in the Garhwal Himalayas, Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River. The main attraction here is the Yamunotri Temple dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Devotees trek through scenic trails to reach the temple and take a holy dip in the hot water springs known as Surya Kund.
2. Gangotri:
Situated in the Uttarkashi district, Gangotri is where the Ganges River originates. The main focus of this pilgrimage site is the Gangotri Temple, which is devoted to the goddess Ganga. Pilgrims visit the temple and take a dip in the icy waters of the Bhagirathi River to cleanse their sins.
3. Kedarnath:
Situated in the Rudraprayag district, Kedarnath is home to one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the Kedarnath Temple. This historic temple to Lord Shiva is located in the heart of the Himalayan range's beautiful Kedar range. Devotees undertake a rigorous trek or opt for a helicopter ride to reach the temple.
4. Badrinath:
Located in the Chamoli district, Badrinath is considered as the home of Lord Vishnu in his form as Badrinarayan. The Badrinath Temple, situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River, is the main attraction here. Pilgrims also visit nearby sites like Mana village, the last village before the Indo-Tibetan border.
