Day-by-Day Jodhpur Jaisalmer

Day 1
Arrival in Jodhpur – Exploring the Blue City
When you arrive in Jodhpur, you will be driven to your hotel. After check-in, head out to one of India’s biggest forts, Mehrangarh Fort, a spectacular scale fortress. This is an architecture which is situated on a hill and has a great view of the ‘Blue painted’ houses of Jodhpur.
Next, go to Jaswant Thada which is a pretty white marble cenotaph erected for the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. This peaceful site features gardens and a lake, with fine marble work and a serene atmosphere as it is.
At the end of the day, the last stop will be Umaid Bhawan Palace, a wealthy grand palace now a hotel and museum. It was built during the rule of Maharaja Umaid Singh and displays royal artefacts, vintage cars as well as elegant interiors. Stay overnight in your hotel after a day of being taken around Jodhpur’s royal heritage.
Day 2
Journey to Jaisalmer – The Golden City
Once breakfast is over, you check out from your hotel and set off on a scenic drive to Jaisalmer. The journey is 5-6 hours and you pass through Rajasthan’s vast desert landscapes.
Relax for a few hours in your hotel by the time you arrive, and visit the majestic Jaisalmer Fort, (Sonar Quila or Golden Fort). This is one of the only living forts left in the world with bustling markets, ancient temples, and homes within the walls of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enter its cobbled lanes, admire beautiful Jain temples and get lost in the charm of the fort.
Go on to the lively markets of Jaisalmer during the evening; famous for traditional Rajasthani handicrafts, textures and silver jewellery. End the day with a relaxing stay over at the hotel.
Day 3
Desert Adventure at Sam Sand Dunes
Visit The Sam Sand Dunes, located 40 km from Jaisalmer and start your day with a scrumptious breakfast. Their wide expanse of golden sands looks incredibly spectacular against the desert landscape.
Ride a camel across the dunes, experience a sunset from the back of an animal, and spend the rest of the evening under the stars. If you are craving a bit more excitement then the Jeep safari allows you to go up and over the desert terrain on a thrill ride.
When the evening passes, enjoy Rajasthan’s vibrant culture with a Desert Camp having a traditional folk dance and music performance. Day 4
Heritage Walk & Departure
After breakfast, you can check out from the desert camp to return to Jaisalmer City. Your first stop with a grand cluster of Havelis, Patwon Ki Haveli, is internationally known for its intricate carvings, intricate balconies and marvellous mirror work. Havelis such as these have the craftsmanship, the grandeur of Rajasthan's rich past built by a wealthy trader.
