Day-by-Day Thanjavur Tour Package Itinerary
Day 1
Thanjavur Arrival – Discovering the Temple Wonders

Upon arrival in Thanjavur, the representative will assist you with a smooth check-in at the hotel. After freshening up, get ready to tour the city's architectural and religious marvels.
Brihadeeswarar Temple – The Chola Dynasty's Pride: Start your adventure by exploring the Brihadeeswarar Temple, an outstanding architectural wonder of the Chola Empire. Constructed during the 11th century by Raja Raja Chola I, the UNESCO World Heritage Site is a testimony to Tamil Nadu's rich legacy.
The 216-foot high Vimana (tower) of the temple is one of India's most striking temples with its revolutionary engineering. The giant Nandi (granite bull statue) greets all at the gate. The carvings within narrate Hindu mythology's greatest tales.
Swamimalai Temple – The Divine Abode of Lord Murugan: Then proceed to Swamimalai Temple, one of the six sacred temples of Lord Murugan located near Kumbakonam. The temple is very religiously significant since it is the place where Lord Murugan taught the significance of "Om" to Lord Shiva.
The temple is constructed on a 60-step hillock of stone symbolizing the 60 years of the Tamil calendar. Pilgrims ascend the steps to receive blessings and indulge in divine energy. The architecture inspired by Dravidian temples and the peaceful environment make it a must-visit. Proceed back to the hotel after a spiritually fulfilling day for an overnight stay.
Day 2
Holy Temples and Departure

Waking early with a refreshing breakfast, ready for another temple-hopping and culture dip.
Thanjai Mamani Koil – Trio of Vishnu Temples: Start the day at Thanjai Mamani Koil, which contains three temples that are meant for the worship of Lord Vishnu. Unusual among the rest of the Vishnu temples, the form of the deity Narasimha (lion-face) can be worshipped here, whose shield from worldly obstacles and evil entities it is said to be capable of.
The serene ambience and ancient sculptures render it a peaceful religious haven. It is an untouched but affluent religious wealth of Thanjavur that is a paradise to believers of Vishnu.
Ramanathaswamy Temple – A Holiest Jyotirlinga Shrine: Your final destination is Ramanathaswamy Temple in the town of Rameswaram, a few hours from Thanjavur. The temple is one of the twelve Lord Shiva's Jyotirlingas and a must-visit pilgrim site.
The temple is renowned for its 1,212 sculptured stone pillars in long corridors, which create a dazzling visual treat. Pilgrims have a ritual bath in the 22 holy wells, which cleanse the soul. The peaceful ambience and architectural grandeur of the temple make it an apt culmination of your pilgrimage.
Upon your arrival at Rameswaram, you would be brought back to Thanjavur for additional departure with warm memories of this holy experience.
